Southern Road in the PATAGONIA – Chile.

Chile, a long and narrow strip of land, sea bathed and crowned by the high peaks of the Andes. This is where man’s tenacity has allowed us to build a road. Where the temple of native and immigrant become present in every hamlet we visited.

Carretera Austral in the Patagonia, is an invitation to know snowdrifts, feel the wind, the cold, enjoy sailing route to the Marble Cathedrals, smell the aroma and flavors of the area, enjoy yourself with Caleta Tortel and marvel with O’Higgins Great Glacier with its 80 m vertical walls, well … a challenge and a dream for every biker.

Moto Expediciones, has developed this circuit for all people who like to enjoy your bike on the road on and  off-road, contemplating nature in its primordial state and enchanted by the waterfalls. Rain and sun will be our company; but … worth !!!.

A tour, which for just over 2,100 km we will know the famous Road Southern, various locations, coves, fjords, glaciers, natural hot springs, etc., that will leave us dazzled in this expedition.

Arriving in Puerto Montt, reception at airport, retirement Motorcycle and HOTEL. Welcome Dinner.

Today we begin our journey to the Southern Road, which leads to the confines of northern and deep Patagonia. First stop on Hornopirén. HOTEL. Distance traveled: 109 km. 40 km of on-road.

After a navigation transhipment disembark at Caleta Gonzalo, Road Southern, where we will continue our way to the town of Chaiten. HOTEL. Pumalín Park. Distance traveled: 220 km.

Puyuhuapi be our next stop. A colorful town with strong German influence. Various activities await us for our rest and relaxation, baths, walks, visit to the weavers, etc., Distance traveled: 200 km. 40 km of on-road.

From Puyuhuapi we can make the trek to the Queulat Hanging Glacier, located in the National Park with the same name. Coyhaique is our final destination, this city is the capital of Aysén region. Afternoon free for sightseeing and rest. Shepherd Monument, Plaza de Armas, etc. Distance Traveled 240 km. 200 km on-road

Leaving early, we arrive at our next stop, Rio Tranquilo. Town located on the side of General Carrera Lake. From there, the Marble Cathedrals will be our next target. A boat trip with approx. 2 hours of navigation, where we will learn and be among the different caverns that have been produced by the constant coming and going of the lake. Impressive. Distance traveled: 230 km. 110 km on-road.

The next day, departing from Rio Tranquilo we will go to Glacier Exploradores to about 70 km away, enjoy the greenery, flora and fauna typical of the area. Hotel

After passing Puerto Bertrand, see the Baker River (the most plentiful in Chile) and admire the cool temperate forests, we will be in Cochrane, the main town south of Coyhaique and supply center. Distance traveled: 120 km. Starting from Cochrane will drive to Villa O'Higgins at the foot of Santiago Hill. Southern and final ends, for now, the Road, the Patagonia Deep. Distance traveled: 225 km.

In one of these two days (according to the schedule of the ship or weather conditions) will sailing the Great O'Higgins Glacier, -with its spectacular 80m., vertical ice walls and its more than 800 km2 of surface- and the other day we will take the opportunity to perform other activities in the area, such as trekking, kayaking, etc., freely available to the tourist.

Leaving early from Villa O'Higgins, Caleta Tortel reach. Location characterized by their type trails sidewalks and balconies all built in cypress guaytecas. An unmissable postcard everyone who makes this spectacular journey. We will replace forces and continue our journey to our accommodation.

We will leave early towards Chile Chico, south side of Lake General Carrera. Distance traveled: 193 km. It is the last town in Chile before moving to Argentina. There will control at customs. And we will drive to our next destination in Perito Moreno, Argentina. Hotel and dinner.

Leaving Perito Moreno, we drive to the town of Esquel. Free city tour. Hotel and dinner. Distance traveled: 550 km. (on-road route)

Early we will travel to San Carlos de Bariloche. Lunch in the city and free afternoon to tour and buy souvenirs; chocolates, for example. Hotel and dinner.

Leaving from Bariloche, we’ll go to Villa La Angostura before coming back to Chile. Customs controls past, we appreciate the Bride Jumping, Puyehue and Llanquihue lakes, we will "take once" in Frutillar, with typical German cakes. In the afternoon return to Puerto Montt. Motorcycle Delivery. Distance traveled: 350 km on road. End circuit.!
